Tuntuu, että viimeiset kolme postausta oon alottanu tällä samalla anteeksipyynnöllä kun en oo kirjottanut taaskaan pitkään aikaan. Niin se alkaa tälläkin kertaa, anteeksi siis tästä epäaktiivisuudesta. Teen parhaani parantaakseni postaustahtiani. Ylihuomiseksi olen jo ajastanut miun minireissun toisen postauksen, joka olisi kylläkin pitänyt kirjoittaa jo aikoja sitten.
Mutta nyt itse asiaan.

I feel like the last three posts I have just started with this same old apology about how I'm sorry that I haven't written in a while (again). And that's how it is this time as well, I'm sorry about this inactivity. I'll do my best to write more often again. For the day after tomorrow I have already scheduled a post about my minitrip, that I should have written ages ago. 
But now to the issue in hand.

Kaikki on ihan sekasin. Eräänä aamuna sähköpostiini ilmestyi viesti kv-vastaavaltani, jossa luki jotakuinkin näin: "Hei Anni! Saimme tiedon koulultasi ulkomailla, että he joutuvat siirtämään kaikki opiskelijat Brysselin kampukselta Luxemburgissa olevassa kylässä olevalle kampukselle. Joten myös sinä sinne siirryt." Niin että mitä?
Googletin sen kampuksen sijainnin ja sain selville, että sen sijaan että menisin miljoonakaupunkiin, minut siirrettiinkin 5,000 ihmisen pikkukylään? Sillä hetkellä päässä ei oikeesti ollut mitään muuta kun voi vittu, joudun oikeesti jonnekkin keskelle ei mitään.

Everything is a mess. This one morning I got a message to my email from my international coordinator that said kind of something like this: "Hey Anni! We got an information from your school abroad, that they have to move all the students from the campus in Brussels to the campus in Luxembourgish town. So you're also being transferred there." Wait what?
I googled the location of the campus and found out, that instead of going to metropolis, I was transferred to a town with 5,000 people? At that moment nothing else was in my mind than, Oh fuck I have to to a town in a middle of nowhere. 

Päädyin lopulta soittamaan molemmille vanhemmilleni ja viesteillä ilmoittamaan asiasta ystävilleni, ennenkuin vihdoinkin sain rauhoituttua. C'mon ei tää niin paha voi olla, Luxemburg on minimaalinen maa, sieltä on helppo karata jos haluaa. Vaikka kaikilla junilla meneekin yli tunti lähteä maasta ja vaikka Luxemburg City on yli tunnin junamatkan päässä ja vaikka sinne ei kuljekkaan suoria junayhteyksiä, kuten ei myöskään minnekkään muualle. Okei, saatan edelleenkin hieman panikoida. Mutta kyllä mie siitä selviän, sentään siellä ei ole alle 1,000 ihmistä ja sentään nyt miun ei tarttee etsiä asuntoa kun voin asua heidän asuntolassaan. Mie tuun selviämään Luxemburgissa ihan yhtä hyvin mitä olisin tullut selviämään Belgiassa. Ja sitä paitsi, mie en oo koskaan vielä käynyt Luxemburgissa.

In the end I ended up calling both of my parents and informing all of my friends about it, before I got to calm down. C'mon, it can't be that bad! Luxembourg is a tiny tiny country, it's easy to escape the country if I wish to. Even though it takes more than an hour to leave the country by train and even though Luxembourg City is over an hour train ride away and even though there are no direct train rides, just like to anywhere else either. Okay, I might be still panicking a little bit. But I'll survive from it, at least there are not less than 1,000 people and at least now I don't have to search for an apartment since I can just move to their students' residence. I will survive Luxembourg as well as I would have survived in Belgium. And besides, I've never been to Luxembourg before.

Tulin viime maanantaina takaisin kaksi viikkoiselta reissultani ympäriämpäri ja tajusin vasta nyt, että voisin jopa kirjoittaa aiheesta tänne blogin puolelle. Täällä on ollut todellakin hiljaiseloa kun kirjoitettavaa ei ole löytynyt ja elämä on muutenkin kesän ajan ollut aikalailla tylsää ja arkista. Yritän nyt kuitenkin parhaani mukaan taas tänne ruveta päivittelemään, koska oikeasti tykkään blogin kirjoittamisesta.

Last Monday I came back from my two week trip around everywhere and I only just now realized that I could actually write about that to here. It's been quite quiet here in the blog because there has not been that much to write about and life has been quite boring and mundane during this summer. I will try my best to start writing here again tho, because I really like writing a blog.




TORSTAI Matkani ensimmäinen pysäkki oli ihanan kesäinen Berliini, jonne saavuin väsyneempänä kuin koskaan. Lähdin Kuopiosta puolilta öin bussilla kohti Helsinki-Vantaata ja sainkin odotella lentokentällä peräti 5 tuntia ennen kuin edes pääsin lentokoneeseen, koska olin saapunut sen verran aikaisin. Unta en tietenkään saanut saati bussissa tai koneessa ja siinä vaiheessa kun pääsin Riikaan vaihtamaan lentoani olin niin väsynyt, että latviakin kuulosti jostain syystä suomelta. Onneksi perillä Tegelin lentokentällä kuitenkin sain nähdä ihanan ystäväni H:n, joka lensi Hollannista seurakseni Berliiniin. En usko että olisin selvinnyt yksinäni hotellille asti, koska olin niin väsynyt.

THURSDAY The first stop on my tip was a beautifully summery Berlin, where I arrived more tired than ever before. I left Kuopio around mdnight towards Helsinki-Vantaa airport by bus and I got to wait at the airport for 5 hours to get to my plane, because I had arrived way too early. I of course did not get any sleep on the bus nor in the plane and by the time I reached Riga for my transfer flight, I was so tired that Latvian started to sound like Finnish. And those languages are nothing alike! Thankfully at the Tegel airport I met with my lovely friend H, who flew from the Netherlands to keep me company in Berlin. I don't believe I would have survived all the way to the hotel by myself since I was so tired by then.  


PERJANTAI Seuraavana päivänä tavattiin sitten ystävämme T, joka on Berliinissä suorittamassa työharjoitteluaan, sekä muutama muu meidän koulusta siellä työharjoitteluuan suorittava. Suuntamme oli Zoo Berlin, jossa pääsin vihdoinkin tänä kesänä näkemään heidän uudet panda-asukkaansa. Viime kesänä en kerennyt, sillä jonot sinne olivat aivan kamalat siellä käydessäni. Pyörähdettiin myös akvaarion puolella ja löysin Nemon! Syötiin vielä hyvä, mutta kallis lounas eläintarhan sisällä ennenkuin minä suuntasin tapaamaan Berliinissä asuvaa ystävääni A:ta, johon tutustuin kun olimme molemmat vaihdossa Koreassa, ja muut suuntasivat yksille Biergartteniin.

FRIDAY The next day we met our friend T, who is doing her internship in Berlin, and a few other people from our university who are also doing their internships there. Our destination was Zoo Berlin, where I finally got to see their new pandas. Last summer I had no time to see them because the lines were like crazy when I visited. We also stopped by the aquarium and I found Nemo! After that we just ate a good, but expensive lunch inside the zoo before I headed out to meet my friend A who lives in Berlin and who I got to know when we both were exchange students in Korea, while the others went for a beer to a Biergartten.



Päädyttiin sitten lopulta A:n kanssa kiertelemään korealaisia ruokakauppoja, sillä minä halusin ostaa korealaisia riisikakkuja ja hän sojua. Suunnitelmana tämän jälkeen oli, että suuntaisimme metrolla tämän jälkeen erääseen korealaiseen ravintolaan syömään Sul Bingsua, mutta suunnitelmat hieman muuttuivat. A nimittäin bongasi korealaisesta ruokakaupasta poistuttuamme sovelluksella vuokrattavia polkupyöriä! Siitä saatiin sitten idea vain pyöräillä seuraavaan kohteeseemme. Totta puhuen olin ihan kauhuissani kun piti pyöräillä niin lähellä autotietä ja ratikkaa, mutta selvittiin hengissä perille. Onneksi. Ja pyörävuokrakin osottautui loppujen lopuksi ilmaiseksi, koska olimme ajaneet vain niin vähän aikaa.

We ended up looking through some Korean supermarket, because I wanted to buy korean ricecakes and A wanted to get some soju. The plan after that was to head to a Korean restaurant to eat Sul Bingsu by subway, but the plans changed a little. Because A saw some bikes you can rent by an app outside the Korean supermarket! So from there we got an idea to just bike to our next destination. Truthfully speaking I was petrified because I had to bike so close to the driveway and the tram, but in the end we did survive to our destination. Thankfully. And the renting of the bikes ended up being free in the end, because we had only rode the bikes for such a short time.
